What’s Alpha?
Alpha is a relaxed Large and Small group opportunity to get to know new people and seek answers about your faith and the Christian life. You will hear a short teaching on many of the foundational faith topics, and discuss the subject of the week candidly and freely in a no judgment zone with others around a table and a meal.
What happens at Alpha?
DINNER: The evening begins at 6:00 pm with a meal together, giving people a chance to get to know each other and who doesn’t like food!!!
TALK: The course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith. The video teaching is roughly 20-25 minutes each evening, followed by facilitated table discussion. No one is forced to talk but all are welcome and encouraged to question and share about the evening topic.
COFFEE, DESSERT & SMALL GROUPS: After we talk, we divide into small groups to discuss the topic of the evening, ask questions, and express opinions. ASK ANYTHING! Alpha is a place where no question is too naïve or too hostile. This is your chance to listen, learn, discuss and discover. We conclude the evening at 8:00 pm.
Are you:
- New to Christ Church? New to Christian Life? New to the Wesleyan tradition?
- Unsure about what to say when an “unbelieving neighbor” asks about your faith?
- In need of a well thought out answer to a child’s or grandchild’s faith question?
- Wanting to be able to walk alongside someone who has lots of questions about Christianity? (Invite them with you!)
- Desiring to sharpen your understanding of what and why you believe what you say you believe?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then Alpha is for you!
